BOTOX

Botox® is a well-proven, popular and safe treatment for lines and wrinkles. The treatment visibly eradicates and softens lines. It also slows down the formation of lines by inhibiting excessive muscle function without diminishing facial expression. Most common treatment areas include frown lines and lines around the eyes (crow's feet). Other areas include smoker's lines (upper lip), mouth corner's, bunny lines, chin for deep crease and pebbling, neck for jaw line definition and vertical neck bands. It is possible to correct facial asymmetry in certain circumstances.

It is also used for excessive sweating (hyperhydrosis) and migraine and tension headaches.

What is Botox®/Dysport? It is a purified protein toxin produced by the clostridium botulinum bacteria. Used in miniscule quantities, it is safe to use for localised cosmetic treatment and does not spread throughout the body. It blocks the nerve impulse from reaching the specific area and as a result, the muscle weakens, with softening or eradication of wrinkles.

What happens during the treatment? After a full consultation and agreement on desired cosmetic effect, the patient will be photographed for client records. Using a fine gauge needle, the desired area is injected. An initial minor sting might be felt, but the procedure can be quite relaxing.

Cosmetic effect. The frozen look is a common concern. At The Bosham Clinic we believe in achieving a natural look. Many people have Botox® and nobody would be able to tell. Botox® can give a lovely softer appearance and radiance to the skin. People are different and some might want to achieve the frozen look. At The Bosham Clinic we aim to work together with our patients to achieve their individual cosmetic goals.

After treatment? Patients must remain upright following treatment for at least 6 hours. Patients must avoid rubbing or touching the treated area and must not undergo any facial beauty or massage treatments for a 14 day period.

Optimum effect is usually noticeable at two weeks. A Complimentary follow-up appointment will be arranged.

Is it safe? Botox® is FDA approved for the treatment of wrinkles and has been used safely and successfully in the medical field of ophthalmology for over 25 years and for wrinkle therapy for over 18 years. In cosmetic therapy, the only possible side effects are temporary and are localised to the area of injection. This is commonly a droopy eyelid or eyebrow, but this in itself is not common.

How much does it cost? Every patient is different and the amount of Botox® needed will also be individual. We can either base our price on area or per unit used. See fee guide for more information.

MyCells is a technique utilizing the person's own ability (autologous) to heal and rejuvenate itself. The plasma is rich in growth factors released by platelets and white blood cells, as a natural alternative for dermal volumetric (filling) regeneration and rejuvenation. It is a onestop in-house procedure lasting between one and two hours per treatment session during which time a sample of the patient's own plasma is obtained for re-injection back into the skin.

Areas most commonly treated include face, neck and back of hands. It can be combined to enhance the effects of radio-frequency, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin and skin peels. In addition, platelet rich plasma has been used by plastic surgeons to enhance wound healing and skin quality after face-lift surgery.
